A Method for Wideband Direction-of-Arrival Estimation Based on Toeplitz Matrix
The coherent signal-subspace method (CSM) for the wideband direction-of-Arrival (DOA) needs constructing a set of focusing matrices and pre-estimating the directions-of-arrival of wideband signals (DOAS). The focusing matrices and the pre-estimated DOAs will influence directly the results of the estimation. Using the max eigenvector against the max eigenvalue from the covariance matrix of one sub-band, the novel method reconstructs a new matrix. Then we can estimate the DOAs with the MUSIC method. The novel method avoids constructing focusing matrices and pre-estimating the DOAs. Compared with the rotational signal-subspace (RSS) 5 method, the novel method has a better resolution at high signal-to noise ratio (SNR). Simulation results show that the novel method is effective.
