Study On Partial Transshipment Mode In A Two-echelon Emergency Supply System With Multi-items
We consider a two-echelon emergency supply system consisting of a emergency supply center and multiple disaster spots, and all the disaster spots are faced with the stochastic items demand which are approximated by Poisson processes, multiple items are also considered including basic relief items(e. G. Steel wire, nog, canvas and wood block etc.) and mixed relief items (e. G. Tent and temporary emergency ambulance space, etc. ) which are equipped by the basic relief items. Transshipment is allowed for the disaster spots and every disaster spot obey the partial transshipment mode which allows them to hold a certain inventory level and transship the emergency items above this inventory level to the others, if a disaster spot is out of stock and meanwhile it cant be satisfied by other disaster spots, the only way for replenishment is to apply for the items direct delivery from the emergency supply center. We develop a model with the the transshipment trigger inventory level as its independent variable and the total cost minimization as its objective to study the transshipment policies. It is shown that the total cost will go down first and then go up while the transshipment trigger inventory level increases.
