Long-Term Experiments and Soil Organic Carbon Sequestration in Arable land of China
Long-term soil and fertilizer experiments (LTEs), an important study means for soil science, can reveal the soil nutrient balance and change of soil quality, guide reasonable fertilization, protect the ecological environment, and promote the development of sustainable agriculture. Therefore, the LTEs are given abroad attention by the countries all over the world. There are about 20 LTEs with longer than 100 years in the world. The most famous one is Rothamsted Experimental Station, which was conducted in 1843 with 167 years of history.
