Effect of Straw-Return on Mitigation of C Emission from the Winter Wheat/Summer Corn System Based on Long-term Study
In order to assess the effect of straw-return on reduction of C emission from the winter wheat/summer corn cropping system, analysis was made based on a long-term experiment, which started from 1981 and sited at the Research station of the Dryland Farming Institute of Hebei Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences in Hengshui, Hebei province in a fluvo-aqiic soil. For the expeiiment, a split-block design was applied, with main plot chemical N fertilizer, sub-plot corn straw and each had 4 rates: for chemical N fertilizer the 4 rates were 0, 90,180 and 360 kg ha1; for corn straw the 4 rates were 0, 2 250,4 500 and 9 000kg ha.While at a P2O5: N ratio 2: 3 P-fertilizer was applied. The experiment had three replicates and plot area 1/15ha. In this paper, only the two treatments with maximum straw rate and with no straw had been used to make comparison.
