Numerical Calculation of Magnetic Force Exerted on the Shaft in Magnetic Fluid Seal
Based on the theory of calculation of magnetic field and magnetic force in magnetic fluid seals, threedimensional model of sealing structure is built using Pro/E and Ansys software, and the magnetic field and magnetic force is calculated in Ansys. After the feasibility was verified, magnetic force exerted on the shaft in an typical sealing structure with three teeth and four grooves is calculated when the sealing gap was 0.1 mm and 0.2mm with several eccentric value. The result shows that the magnetic force exerted on the shaft increased linearly with eccentricity.
