Fracture Mechanics Analysis of Edge Crack Based on FEM
In this paper, the double-edge crack stress intensity factors were computed by finite element analysis software based on the computation model of thin plate double-edge asymmetrical cracks, and the influences of double-edge relative position and crack length on the stress intensity factors were discussed in detail. The results indicated that the crack stress intensity factor of double-edge increased with the increasing of the crack length at crack tips, and mode I stress intensity factor increased with the increasing of double-edge crack relative distances at double-edge crack tips. In the actual project, when double-edge crack length ratio is higher than 1.0, the mode I and mode II stress intensity factor of double-edge crack should both be considered, and when the ratio is smaller than 1.0, focus should be put on the mode I stress intensity factor.
