Influence of Ultra-fine Powder on Mechanical Properties of Cement-based Materials
To study the application of ultra-fine powder in cement-based materials, the cement-based samples mixed with different reactive rruneiai composite additives were tested on the flexural strength and compressive strength. The effects of several factors such as the volume of mineral powder A, the volume of silica fume and the percentage of mineral powder A blended with silica fame, on the mechanical properties of cement-based material were discussed. The results show that the ultra-fine powder of reactive mineral composite additive influences greatly the flexural strength and compressive strength of cement-based material. Especially, the silica fume can improve the flexural strength and compressive strength. The SEM analysis shows that the second hydratation of ultra-fine powder together with the disadvantage component Ca(OH)2 inside the samples produces the advantage C-S-H gel and reforms the microstructure of cement-based materials effectively.
