Research on lateral load distribution method for RC frame structure after steel adding storey on the top in pushover analysis
Considering the inter-story stiffness changing caused by the earthquake load, a method calculated the lateral load distribution for RC frame structures after steel adding storey is established. Through pushover analysis and nonlinear time-history (NTH) analysis, the validity of the procedure is validated by comparing response quantities such as story displacement and inter-story drift ratio and distribution of plastic hinges. It is shown that the distribution of plastic hinges obtained from pushover analysis is accorded with that of NTH analysis under practical earthquake load; story displacement and inter-story drift ratio are also in accord with the result of NTH analysis.
