A new method for construction of drainage holes of RCC dam
There is strong interference between construction of drainage holes and the rapid and continuous construction of RCC dam. For construction of drainage holes, the extubation method, burying permeable components method and geological drilling method recommended by standard are all based on the long-hole continuous design of drainage holes, and all these methods are proved by engineering to be deficient at different degree, especially for the rapid and continuous construction of RCC dam. In this paper, the transition section is set to cut through the upper part and lower part of drainage hole, also new subsection construction method for drainage holes by using hydraulic drill is given. As the new method is simple and flexible, with advantages of high quality, large speed and low cost, and it has been successfully applied in some practical engineering, it can be popularized in the similar engineering.
