A Reverse Design Method to High-Speed Cam on Printing Press

This paper proposes a method to high-speed cam profile reverse design .According to the given measure points of the primitive cam, select some of them in sequence as sample points to the interpolation calculation, the cam profile can be reconstructed accurately with some kind of fitting curve. In this paper, a B3-spline is adopted for the interpolation algorithm and the reverse design model is presented. As an application, the reverse design program of a main cam of the down-swinging paper transferring mechanism around fixed center on highspeed printing press is developed with MATLAB, the reverse results and error analysis of the reverse design is presented.
