A Fuzzy-Based Dynamic Dispatching Strategy for a Flexible Manufacturing System
In this research, a fuzzy-based dynamic dispatching strategy for a flexible manufacturing system is proposed. First, the variables affecting the system performance are identified and the fuzzy membership functions for the variables and objectives are established. Then, the fuzzy rule database for each dispatching rule is constructed from the simulation data. Based on the fuzzy rule database, the degree of influence on the objective for each dispatching rule under different statues of variables is inferred and the priority of dispatching rules is determined. The highest priority of dispatching rules is selected to improve system performance. The simulation results indicate that the performance of the proposed fuzzybased dynamic dispatching rules is better than fixed dispatching rules.
