Agent-Based Modeling of Distributed Energy System

The need for improving energy efficiency and reducing CO2 emissions, as well as restructuring of energy markets has favoured the increase of distributed energy system (DES). To promote the development of DES, theoretical researches on DES and its influencing factors are required. This paper describes an Agent-based modeling framework for the development conditions of DES from an economic perspective. Policy and power grid looked upon as the influencing factors of DES, three Agents are abstracted in a certain area : DES Agent, Government Agent and Power Grid Agent.. The attribute values and behavior functions of the Agents are defined respectively. The scale of DES in an area changes along with its profits that is impacted by the other Agents attitudes towards DES. Such actions as tax relief, financial subsidies and admittance qualification from the other Agents can influence the development of DES, while the result of DES affects the other Agents ultimately. The complex relations between DES and its influencing factors is revealed by the bottom-up modeling technique.
