FEM Aided Prestress Design for Large-scale Ultra-low-temperature LNG Tank
A large-scale low-temperature aboveground LNG storage tank design is described in detail, especially the process of prestressing tendons configuration using finite element method (FEM). Considering the LNG storage tanks working conditions and corresponding loading conditions, the strength and stress statuses are simulated using 3D FEM according to the actual construction stages. The corresponding conclusions and recommendations give the advice to the construction phase design and the prestressing tendons design to ensure no LNG leakage and the structure security.
