Multi-resolution Quadtree 3- D Terrain Visualization Method
In 3-d terrain visualization the existing problems lie in the slow data processing and display delay. Subject to these certain drawbacks and based on the research for the terrain data structure and real-time rendering technique, this paper realizes a terrain visualization model based on quadtree multiresolution terrain and proposes a node error evaluation function which combines the viewpoint with slope and the technique of crack elimination between the nodes in different resolution. Experiment results show that providing without losing the 3-d terrain, this technique improves the roaming efficiency and the visual effect in 3-d terrain rendering.
