Experimental and FEM Study on Surface Quality in High Grade Petroleum Pipe Turning

The petroleum pipes are key component of petroleum drilling instrument. Residual stress distribution and work hardening in oil pipe turning are discussed through cutting experiment. The experiment result shows that the depth of residual stress affecting layer is small but residual stress is big while work hardening is severe. The prediction of residual stress, cutting force and temperature are achieved through FEM method. The simulation results are constant with experiment results.
