Numerical Simulation on Nuclear Accident Hazard Predicting and Warning
A Nuclear Accident hazard Predicting and Warning System (NAPWS) was established, which contained three parts: weather field forecasting, diffusion modeling and hazard assessment of the consequences. Based on the random walk theory, the Nuclear accident, Diffusing Model (NDM) was established, WRF and the NDM interface was developed, and WRF and NDM were integrated with ArcGIS9.3. By applying the NCEP data, WRF simulates the future 48 to 72 hours of the finegrid weather fields, and NDM calls the WRF forecasting wind and turbulence fields directly to predict spatial and temporal distribution of contaminated areas and endanger grade, the start time of risk and duration of radioactive plume. The technical support is provided for nuclear accident emergency. With the aim of a certain nuclear power facility as an example, numerical simulation was completed.
