Study on the Common Structures and Forms of Emergency Event Chains

A series of secondary and derived events may happen after an emergency event, which is indicated as an event chain. The event chain makes the emergency event more complicated, and more difficult to deal with and predict. In this paper, the mechanism of emergency events and event chains is studied, which is important for people to comprehend the principles of them. To deconstruction of a complex event chain, three basic forms, line form, bifurcation form and circle form are proposed as common substructures. At the same time, the interaction between two events on an event chain is also described. The characteristics of events chains, such as positive feedback, negative feedback, coupling, mutual exclusion and coexisting, are also represented.
