Assessment of Monte Carlo Method in Calculating Radiative Heat Transfer Through Glass
Thermal breakage of window glass has significant influence on the development of compartment fire. The radiative heat transfer is generally an important part for the analysis. In this paper, the Monte Carlo Method (MCM) is employed to analyze the radiative heat transfer through glass. The effects of wavelength and glass thickness are analyzed. Comparisons on the absorbed fraction of the incident radiation between MCM and theory analysis are made. Results show a great agreement, suggesting a good applicability. The study also investigates the energy distribution across glass.
