Experimental Research on Fire Damage of Tunnel Lining Concrete Test Blocks

In tunnel fire, lining concrete can be damaged to different degrees according to the water content of concrete and the temperatures it is subjected to. Three groups of C25 concrete standard test blocks with different water content were heated for 5 hours at different constant temperature respectively and put aside after being cooled. Then compressive tests and splitting tensile tests were carried out to investigate the influence of water content and temperature on the residual strength of the concrete test blocks. The results show that, Water content is the main factor causing bursting of concretes at high temperature. When temperature is below 200℃, higher water content is prevail to enhancing the residual compressive strength of concrete. After high temperature, the splitting tensile residual strength of concrete loses much quicker than the compressive residual strength, and that higher water content would aggravate the reduction of its tensile performance.
