Influence of Setting of Roof Spacer on the Smoke and Temperature in Tunnel Fire

The research background of the thesis is the centralized smoke extraction mode of the tunnel independence smoke extraction passage. The author conducts the numerical simulation to the twelve groups of fire situation under different slopes in the tunnel with roof spacer or without roof spacer, and analyzes the influence of the tunnel roof spacer on the fire spread and temperature distribution. The results show that the roof spacer can make the tunnel produce the evident chimney effect in fire and the critical slope gradient is 1%. At the same time, the highest temperature on the top of the tunnel increases by 10% at least. The distribution range of the high temperature smoke in the tunnel with roof spacer is wider than that in the tunnel without roof spacer. The high temperature region over 600℃is more than 6m and that over 800℃is more than 4m. All the above results provide some references to the design of fire protection and structure protection to the independence smoke extraction passage in the tunnel.
