Effects of Water Mist at Different Pressures on Smoke Concentration for Corner Fire in Closed Compartment
In a common compartment fire, when a water mist which was far from fire applied on it, the water mist could not quench the fire and just made the flame short in commonly. In this experiment, the temperature at the top of the flame also reduced from 985℃ to about 805℃. After the water mist applied on the fire, near the door, the oxygen concentration rose about 1%, the CO and CO2 concentrations reduced, But far from the door and near the wall or a corner, the oxygen concentration reduced, the CO and CO2 concentrations rose. In the center line of the flame, the concentrations of oxygen and CO and CO2 just changed a little. The changes of the concentrations oxygen and CO and CO2 were influenced by the pressure of water mist, the changes increased when the pressure of water mist rose. Because of the fire shrank, its heat release rate also reduced, after the water mist applied on a pool-oil fire, heat release rate of the flame reduced over 50% at last, and it was affected by the pressure of water mist, it reduced less when the pressure of water mist was lower. The isothermal plane of 45℃ also changed to go up when a water mist acted on the corner fire in the room..
