Discussion on Cooling Water Supply Strength for Tank Fire

In order to effectively prevent and control the occurrence and development of oil tank fires, the intensity of the cooling water supply to tank wall was studied in this paper. Standardizes were inadequate by the comparison and analysis; the effect of water supply quantity was analyzed to the tank wall by the simulant cooling experiment of the tank wall in tank fire, and the results of computational model and experiment were compared. The results showed that the greater the intensity of water supply, the faster the cooling ratets, but the water supply strength reached a certain value, the difference of the cooling effect was small, effective and rational water supply strength was more favorable to control fires. These results have some reference value for fighting tank fires.
