Experiment Study on Water Mist to Extinguishing Gas Combustion Flame

Experimental platform for fine water mist extinguishing gas combustion flame was built, and water mist field was surveyed by Phase Laser Doppler Particle Analyzer. The best mist field parameter nozzle was picked up and series of experiments were carried out in the experimental platform. The action process between fine water mist and gas was studied and fine water mist extinguishing gas combustion mechanism was analyzed. The experiment indicated that under the case of 1.6MPa system stress and saunter diameter D32 of 67μm particle size, the fine water mist can extinguish burning gas within 7.4s. The mechanism of fine water mist extinguishing gas fire was endothermic cooling and vaporization of suffocation. Entrainment area formed in front of the mist-fire enlarged specific surface area, the strong disturbance and tensile function were generated by the fire, then, the burning intensity of fire was gradually decreased from conflagration to small fire, and at last, the instability led to the extinguishing of fire.
