Research of a New Kind and High Efficient Fuel-Air Explosion Suppressant Based on Cold Aerosol

The explosion suppressant is the key to the explosion suppression. The new technology of ultra-fine cold aerosol explosion suppressant is put forward based on the special needs of the oil depot, aiming at the future trend. The formulation is improved through a series of complex change processing. The main components contain matrix, anti-vibration solid additives, dispersed additives, moisture-resistant agents, leavening agent, smash additives, and composite modified agents, etc. Some technologies such as coarse grinding, ultra fine, anticoalescence, silicification, oleophobicity and hydrophobicity treatment processing have been increased. Thus the reuniting problem has been solved, d50<Sum. Micro-particles stability and dispersion is enhanced remarkably after coated by silicon oil and other compound modification treatment technology. The critical concentration of surfactants is 0.5%. The study shows that it has good suppression and suffocation to flame, sheltering, cooling effect to heat radiation and high fuel-air explosion suppression effectiveness. Small /medium fuel-air explosion suppression time is less than 1.6 s and the explosion suppressant used is less than 60 g/m3.
