Thermal Kinetic Study of Dicumyl Peroxide by Using Non-Parametric Kinetic Method

Dicumyl peroxide (DCP) is typical organic peroxide, which is widely used in chemical industry. In this paper, an adiabatic method is used to test the thermal kinetic study of dicumyl peroxide. A new method, called non-parametric kinetics (NPK), for the treatment of adiabatic thermal decomposition data has been developed, the most significant feature of this method is its ability to provide a kinetic model that fits the experimental data, without any assumptions either about the functionality of the reaction rate with the degree of conversion or the temperature. It can be seen from the results that the apparent activation energy and pre-exponential factor are 170.62 kJ·mol-1 and 3.81×1018 min-1 for DCP, the reaction order is approximately one.
