Decisive Factors and Model Studying of LNG Explosive Boiling on/under Water
The decisive factors and model studying of explosive boiling during discharging of LNG in water are carried out here, and the explosive boiling experiments of discharging LNG in water are summarized. The decisive conditions of LNG explosive boiling on/under water are that LNG and water must contact directly and water temperature must be higher than the superheat limit temperature of LNG The decisive factors of direct contact of LNG and water are that the temperature difference between LNG and water should be less than the minimum temperature difference of film boiling or the unstable fluctuations caused by the wave range greater than the stable limit, so that the vapor interfacial can not form a stable film. The numerical models describing explosive boiling process are established, including superheat limit temperature, nucleation rate and mass and heat transferring model. The superheat limit temperature of liquid methane is 165K, nucleation rate is 3.41×10l0particles/(m3·s) and average temperature rising rate can reach 4.7×106K/s. As a result, the minimum temperature rising rate of LNG explosive boiling should not be less than 106K/s.
