Experimental Research on Coal Dust Explosion Propagation
The coal dust explosion experiment, with coal dust 30 g, 40 g and 50 g, is taken in the steel pipeline, which has 0.3 m diameter and 1.5 m length. The propagation is conducted in an 80 mm×80 mm square pipeline. The flame test system, pressure test system and flow test system are arranged in the propagation pipeline. The test results show that coal dust explosion flame propagation distance is 6 to 12 times of the length of the coal dust explosion zone. The maximum explosion pressure and maximum flow rate happened somewhere in propagation pipeline. The specific distance from the explosion source will reduce with the amount of the coal dust explosion increasing within a certain range. In the process of the explosion and explosion propagation process of shock wave pressure of all test points first increased and then decreased in attenuation characteristics. It also shows that the impact air of attenuation change is related to explosive energy and cross-section.
