Numerical Simulation of Explosive Characteristics and Rules of Gasoline-Vapor Based on Mechanism of Detailed Chemical Reaction Kinetics

A two—dimensional model of gasoline-vapor explosion characteristics for premixed combustible mixture was established. In the model, considering control action imposed on explosion by turbulence and chemical reaction kinetics, turbulent combustion model coupled with reduced mechanism of detailed chemical reaction kinetics was set up. The governing equations of flow and the reaction equations were solved simultaneously (i.e., coupled together) by the finite volume method (FVM).ISAT (in-situ adaptive tabulation) was applied for solving the problem of rigidity in solution of chemical reaction. The comparison of the predicted characteristic with the experimental data showed good agreement. Explosive characteristics and rules for gasoline-vapor/O2 mixture in two-dimension closed space were studied by numerical simulation. The results that agreed with experiment date laid a foundation on the further studies on flammable gas explosion process and the prevention of the explosion disaster.
