Flame Propagation and Overpressure of Gas Explosion in Coal Laneways

To explore the accident law of gas explosion in coal laneways, the flame propagation and overpressure development are investigated comparatively between several channels of different shapes (which are used for simulating complicated circumstances of coal laneways)and a smooth, straight one. It shows that flame propagation velocity and overpressure development are largely influenced by the structure of a laneway and facilities in it. the more complicated a coal laneway, the more intense flame Propagation and overpressure development, and they can be swiftly developed into detonation and shock wave. Therefore, to prevent and control the destruction of gas explosion accident,In the mine exploitation and laneway design, the structure of a laneway and facilities in it should be simplified, the bend laneway and other complex shape should be avoided as far as possible.
