CFD Simulation for the Dense Gas Dispersion in Plateau Mountainous City

The commercial FLUENT software based on physical CFD model coupled with the traditional wind tunnel experiment has been employed to simulate the unique scenario of dense gas leakage and dispersion in the plateau mountainous city Gejiu, where the wind velocity profile has been determined according to the observation data collected under the local atmospheric boundary layer. The simulation concentration was verified by the wind tunnel experiment. The influence of atmospheric stability on the process of dense gas dispersion was analyzed by this model considering the dispersion process of continuous leakage of gas phase materials, and the useful results were obtained. The visual basis was offered for the better understanding to the flow and mass transfer of dense gas.
