Experiment Research on the Characteristics of Straw Combustion
In this paper, the main inhibitor research on studying the burning straws property which is measured by a cone calorimeter. After changing radiation intensity of the cone calorimeter and simulating different sizes of fire, we analyze how the ignition time, heat release rate, and rate of carbon monoxide production influence straw burning. It is trying to come to a conclusion with more scientific basis on reducing fires. The result shows that under current experimental conditions, when measured with a less than 30kw/m2 radiation intensity, the straw doesnt produce smoldering fire which means burning is not a full scale, and CO release in a faster way of resulting in high gas concentration with large amount of toxic gases occur. With the increase of radiation fireworks produce, ignition time shortens as well as heat and smoke release rate increase. The straw combustion test can reflect the combustion characteristics in a real fire.
