Numerical Simulation of Spontaneous Combustion of Isolated Island Coal Pillar
This paper conducts numerical simulation of spontaneous combustion of coal which is based on CFD software and Arrhenius Equation for #3090 isolated pillar of Jinggezhuang Coal Mine. The result predicts the spontaneous combustion period is 7 days and emphasizes the feature of spontaneous combustion of loose coal pillar. Hence, the high temperature zone is confirmed. According to this paper, the essential reason of spontaneous combustion can be summed up as follows: Heat liberation intensity of coal is greater than increment of enthalpy change and heat release of conduction. This conclusion is of great significance to locate coal pillar combustion source and fire developing control.
