Preliminary Evaluation of the Coal-Gas Outburst Hazard of No.13 Coal Seam in Wangfenggang Mine, Huainan Coalfield
Mining of deep coals has been becoming more and more important because of the increasing demand of resources and the exhaustion of shallow coal mine resources in China. Coal seams in deep area have more complex geological conditions than those in shallower area, which results in high risk of coal-gas outburst in deep coal mine. Coal-gas outburst is a serious threat to the safety of mining process, which induced many disastrous accidents. Wangfenggang mine, the first mine that reaches up to a depth of 1000 meters is characterized by the most complex mining conditions in the Huainan coalfield. In this paper, the outburst hazard influences by the geological structure, coalbed methane and coal-body structure were comprehensively evaluated. The factors including the fault structure, gas pressure, gas content, coal consistent coefficient, initial methane diffusion speed were considered, and a comprehensive index of outburst hazard was obtained for evaluating the fatalness of coal-gas outburst in No.13 coal seam.
