Conceptual Design of Behaviour-Based Traffic Safety Evaluation and Decision Support System
With the advent of new challenges from traffic safety problems, developing a traffic behavior safety evaluation and decision support system (BTSE-DSS) come to be a pressing issue which needed to be focused on. In this study, BTSE-DSS is developed not only to support traffic safety management in evaluation and improving behaviors of pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers, but also to propose the promotion countermeasures and implementating schems for transport facilities. This paper applies quality function deployment (QFD) technique to translate client requirements into technical attributes of software design. In addition, Fuzzy set theory is applied in the QFD method, to process the linguistic terms and variables in questionnaire. Furthermore, a more detailed design for BTSE-DSS were presented, the optimum design scheme with the configuration of apache servers, MySQL database, PHP developing tool, was specified in both function aspect and system implementation. The proposed method of FQFD application could be a sample for software conceptual design, and the work done in this paper will be an important software demonstration for traffic safety management field.
