Construction Safety Performance Analysis of Large-Span Simple-Supported Bridge

One 148 m overhead launching gantry design is discussed to guarantee the safety performance during construction process of large-span simple-supported bridge. The overhead launching gantry is composed of 2 main truss systems, 5 transverse connection systems, 12 carrying truss systems, 1 cable crane and other attachments. The overhead launching gantry is designed for 64m double-line railway simple supported box beam. The 64m box beam is formed with doublebreadth single box single room beam. Each breadth box beam is divided to be 13 prefabricated sections. The box beam sections are connected with wet joint. After tensioning the longitudinal and transverse prestress, the box beam sections and the wet joints are formed one whole box beam bridge. When hoisting the beam section, casting the wet joint concrete and moving the overhead launching gantry, the stress of the truss member, the deflection of the mid-span and the two ends of the overhead launching gantry need to be calculated to estimate the safety performance of the overhead launching gantiy. From the finite element analysis results of 8 working conditions, the stress of the truss member is lower than the allowable strength during the construction process and the overhead launching gantry is in good condition. The mid-span deflection and the front point deflection of the overhead launching gantry is the foundation for adjusting the elevation of the box beam sections and the adjacent bearing surface.
