Characteristics of Multi-Storied Brick-and-Concrete Buildings Response to Tunnel Blasting Earthquake

Kiaochow bay Cross-harbor Tunnel Guide Line Project is located in Lot downtown of Shinan District, Qingdao. For studying characteristics of multistoried buildings response to Tunnel Blasting Earthquake, the blasting vibration test was carried on about seven-storied brick-and-concrete building at Yunnan road main tunnel course ZK2+347.8. According to monitoring results, this study found that there is magnifying effect of vertical vibration velocity.. Vertical vibration velocity of former 7 floors basically keeps steady. But the magnifying effect turns up at 8 floor and it is magnification is 1.942.50 times. However the magnifying effect of horizontal vibration velocity is undulated. The magnifying effect turns up at 2, 5 and 6 floor. The paper figures out the relationship of seven-storied brick-and-concrete building and vibration frequency, which can offer a reference value to similar studies.
