Numerical Simulation of Slope Stability under Combined Surface and Underground Mining
The deformation and failure mechanism of slope under combined surface and underground mining is much more complicated than that under single open-pit mining because of the effect by the two kinds of mining at the same time. In this paper, according to the actual progress of Pingzhuang Western Open-pit and based on strength reduction method, the stability of slope under simple surface mining and combined surface and underground mining were simulated with RFPA-SRM respectively. By analysis of the simulated result, it can be known that shear stress increases in rock masses, deformation aggravates, strength decreases highly because new fractures generate and contact with preexisting fractures, and the stability of slope under combined surface and underground mining reduces compared with that under simple surface mining. It was proved that changing of stress environment is the basic reason why slope stability under combined surface and underground mining inclines.
