Modeling and Application of Leader-Member Exchange on Safety Culture

A qualitative study approach was applied to develop and test a relationship model between Leader-Member Exchange (LMX), company size (CZ) and safety culture (SC) via questionnaire survey and statistic analyses. The valid data were gathered from 143 employees within different companies. Results demonstrate that LMX positively correlate to SC; CZ modulates the correlation between LMX and SC. It suggests that high level LMX is beneficial to safety culture construction. The findings own value to both safety culture theory and relative management practice.
