Influence of Confined Water on Water Insulating Effect of Water-Resisting Strata in Seam Flood

With the increase of mining scale and depth, many coal mines go into deep mining, and the high confined water in floor aquifers is one of the hidden troubles in deep mining. The water-resisting strata(WRS) in coal seam floor is a natural barrier for the confined water in floor aquifers to the working face on top, and its water insulating effect depends on many factors, such as rock characteristics of the WRS and its thickness, the advancing distance of working face, the hydraulic pressure of confined water, and so on. And the evaluation on the water insulating effect of the WRS in coal seam floor based on its structural stability and seepage stability. In this paper, the software of the coupling system of flow and solid in rock failure process analysis (F-RFPA2U) is used to simulate the failure process of WRS with the action of different hydraulic pressure. The distribution characteristics of stress, deformation, and the flow vector of WRS are obtained and the corresponding structural stability and the seepage stability are analyzed. The influence of confined water on the water insulating effect of waterresisting strata in coal seam floor is studied to reveal the mechanical mechanism of water-inrush from floor in mining above aquifer.
