Effect of Aluminum Powder on Properties of Emulsion Explosives in Underwater Explosion
In this paper, underwater explosion test is conducted for emulsion explosives of zero-oxygen formula as well as that added aluminum powder with different content. The results show that shock wave energy and bubble energy of the emulsion explosives are improved by adding aluminum powder. Heat emitted by aluminum power involved in chemical reactions can maintain high temperature and high pressure for a long time. So decay time constant and bubble pulsation period extends and improve the explosive energy and the ability to do work. Under non-coupling charge conditions, aluminum powder can also change the explosive energy. This would be an significance on the formulation design and effective use of explosion energy during engineering blasting.
