The Fracture Surface 3D Reconstruction of Welded Joint and Damage Analysis

This paper presents a method based on computer vision and 3D reconstruction that can be used for the analysis of fatigue damage of welded joint. The scanning electron microscope (SEM) images of fatigue fracture of welded joint are used to be reconstructed. The reconstruction process includes images matching and height calculating. The paper also presents a procedure of damage analysis based on the real fracture surfaces of welded joints, in which the relationship between fatigue behavior of welded joint and fractal dimension and roughness factor based on real fracture surfaces are studied.
