Berth Allocation Problem with Harvard Architecture and Agent-based Computing

The berth allocation problem (BAP) has been the focus and hotspot of systems engineering, industrial engineering and logistics engineering. This paper presented multi-agent system (MAS) model of container terminal landside operation based on Harvard architecture that is a systemic and robust solution to BAP, and obtain the pilot study simulation result that indicates the compound modeling using Harvard architecture and agent-based computing (HA-AC) to BAP is feasible and effective. That also provides a new way to construct intelligent decision support system (IDSS) for container terminal logistics system (CTLS).
