Modified Linear Parameter Varying Modeling for Turbofan Engine
A modified LPV (Linear Parameter Varying) modeling method for nonlinear system was put forward and is applied in modeling a turbofan engine system. First, a quasi-LPV model of a turbofan engine is designed at various engine operating points using linearized models of the engine dynamics and the scheduling variable is the low-pressure compressor speed. Then, according to the feedback method, the quasi-LPV model is modified: an estimated fuel, which is calculated by using the scheduling variable, is feed back, and a close-loop is constructed via a PI plant, thus a modified LPV model of the turbofan engine is constructed. Last, a speedup process from idler speed to max speed is simulated with the turbofan engines nonlinear model, the quasi-LPV model and the modified LPV model, separately. The simulation results show that the modified LPV model achieved much higher steady precision and fidelity than the quasi-LPV model.
