Passive Confining Pressure SHPB Simulation Study on Concrete Material
The stress enhancement in passive confining pressure SHPB experiment for concrete material was studied by dimensional analysis and finite element method, the stress enhancement coefficient was defined to describe this kind of phenomenon. The effect of sleeve with different material and dimension on peak stress was analyzed by LS-DYNA finite element method, the results show that the stress peak will be advanced with the increase of elastic modulus ratio and thickness radius ratio between sleeve and specimen, and reduced with the decrease of clearance radius ratio between sleeve and specimen. Finally, the effect of friction on stress peak was researched by the method of changing the friction coefficient between specimen and sleeve or pressure bar. The conclusion has some significance on guiding passive confining pressure SHPB experiment.
