Real-time Flow Simulation on Curved Surface Based on LBM
Flow motion on curve surfaces of arbitrary topology is an interesting visual effect but a complex dynamics to simulate. In this paper, we introduce a novel and effective way to modal such dynamics. We propose a technique that adapts a unstructured lattice Boltzmann model (Unstructured LBM). The whole algorithm consists of five aspects, including surface modeling with unstructured triangular meshes, unstructured LBM, mapping the surface to the plane, boundary conditions and body forces. The experimental results show that by this method we can implement the real-time and accurate flow simulation effects on curved surface in most of the curved surface models based on unstructured triangular meshes.
