Numerical Simulation on Formation and Penetration Target of Powder Metal
At present, powder metal shaped charge liner has been widely applied to oilwell perforators. However, most of these tests is the experimental study rather than the numerical simulation study. In this paper, the jet formation by shaped charge with powder metal liner and penetration into steel targets are numerically simulated by the software of AUTODYN. The pertinent parameters of shock equation of state of powder materials is formulated by a theory of mixture. The characteristic of the formatting and penetrating steel target of the shaped charge jet with powder metal liner was studied. The result of numerical simulation was compared with the result of the experiment. It is showned that: The result of numerical simulation was in accordance with the experiment. The numerical simulation is right and the analysis is reasonable. It provides the way to study the shaped charge with powder metal liner and the valuable rule.
