Dynamic analysis of a hydraulic balancer at the steady state
This paper studies dynamic characteristics of a hydraulic balancer at the steady state. The vibration suppression ratio (VSR) of a single-layer hydraulic balancer is derived based on a simple planar rotator and the balancers difficulty in completely balancing the system is presented. An improved balancer with multiple layers is studied which can greatly enhance the VSR. A mathematical model for the multilayer hydraulic balancer is built with its largest linear region and the volume ratio corresponding to it derived. Computations are carried out based on the mathematical model. Factors influencing the balance capability of the hydraulic balancer including volume ratio, number of layers and thickness of the separators are considered. Although the balance capability of a hydraulic balancer could be enhanced in the linear region by increasing the number of separators, the balance capability at a large eccentricity could be weakened due to thickness of the separators.
