Numerical Simulation of Shaped Charge Warhead Penetrating into Armor-plate

When an equipment is attacked by ammunition, ball cartridge experiment of estimating the broken parts in the equipment costs too much, takes long period and is danger to people; comparatively, the simulation method is economical, efficient and safe, which could also forecast the damaged components. In this paper, adopting finite element method, a research has been made on numerical simulation of shaped charge warhead penetrating into armor-plate by AUTODYN software. It has analyzed three phases of the penetration and has obtained data of kinetic energy, average velocity and momentum of the jet which changed over time. In all, the results have provided the basic data for the evaluation of the internal damage components of equipment.
