Analyses of Car Fuel Consumption Based on Driving Cycles
Aimed at the difficulty of effectively analyzing fuel consumption characteristics for the conventional vehicle, this paper combined with the engine work time and engine fuel rate based on the vehicles drive cycles, and used visual analysis to find out the engine fuel consumption characteristics of the detail three-dimensional distribution. The results show that, for the actual engine operating point of vehicles urban drive cycles, the vast majority is falling into the low speed and low-load zone, and in these regions engine consumes too much fuel. Furthermore, the results can also indicates the direction of energy-saving design of the engine, I.e. high efficiency of engine MAP should be matched with the low-speed and low-load zone according to the vehicles drive cycles, and engine should be downsized by hybrid technology. These works have great practical significance for enterprise products renewal and energy-saving design.
