Network and Multimedia Technology and Personalized Foreign Language Teaching Strategy

This article, through the research into cognitive style,an important individual difference in foreign language study, explores how foreign language teaching should aim at cognitive style differences and implement personalized foreign language teaching strategy in the network and multimedia environment. Personalized foreign language teaching should comply with the learners cognitive style, respect the differences, adopt network and multimedia technologies, and give personalized instruction of learning strategy, thus enable all the foreign language learners to become successful ones. The author proposes strategies for field independent and field dependent learners, strategies for cautious and impulse learners, and strategies for learners of visual, auditory and kinesthetic-style.
